"Pre-war cars have experienced something of a renaissance among younger enthusiasts, and this particular example represents its genre with a special sense of pride."

Description

The car was first registered in Sweden to its original owner in June 1998, in its current condition. The present owner purchased it the same year as a gift to himself after a long professional career, following the sale of his business. He has always had a strong passion for cars and technical knowledge, and he has refined and cared for his Model A Ford as a cherished possession with all his enthusiasm, regularly driving it to meets and events. Today, the current owner and those close to him feel that age has taken its toll, and the car is no longer driven as it once was, nor as it should be. It is time for a new owner to take over its care.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

With the right technique, knowledge, and feel, it is relatively easy to start and drive. The engine feels strong, and both the service brakes and parking brake engage firmly and evenly. Start in second gear, rev briefly, fully disengage the clutch, double-clutch, and feel how the gear lever and linkage smoothly find their place among the gears before you apply the throttle again.

  • Interior condition

Bright and inviting interior in a cozy condition. Nice details, instrumentation, and door panels. Additionally, it features a charming rumble seat—somewhat awkwardly referred to in Swedish as a 'mother-in-law seat'—with durable, practical vinyl upholstery.

  • Exterior condition

A well-maintained exterior with an older paint job that is still better than when it was newly restored. 'Newly restored' in the sense of its last renovation, as the standards during the car's early days were quite different. This example stands out with its stylish color combination, impeccably fine chrome, and other striking details, such as the black leather trunk with shiny rivets, thick straps, and a cozy interior.

  • General condition

A genuine and solid overall impression. This car has been meticulously restored, resulting in a representative example that likely has a significantly higher finish than when it originally rolled off the factory line in Detroit.
