"As good as exhibition condition."

Description

Imported to Sweden in 2001, this car was originally sold new in Los Angeles in September 1964. The color is Phoenician Yellow, which was an uncommon hue with color code 7. It was officially available for a short period on early 1964½ Mustangs but seems to have continued for a little while afterward. The car appears to have never been in poor condition or repaired. Here, the panels, spot welds, and fittings look just as they did from the factory. It wasn't 100% precise – never before or after have so many cars of a model been produced in such a short time as the 1965 Mustang. The demand was enormous. During the restoration, great emphasis was placed on maintaining the original condition down to the smallest detail. Even down to the correct screws, nuts, and markings. It's likely that you can't get much closer to a "new" 1965 Mustang than this one. It's equipped with a Rally-pac, power-operated convertible top, power steering, and an automatic transmission. There's a modern stereo discreetly installed as well.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Equipped with power steering but not power brakes. It features a 283" 4V engine and a C4 automatic transmission. Everything works flawlessly, both mechanically and electrically. The engine compartment largely retains the same appearance and finish as these cars had originally. Most of the decals, hose clamps, cable connections, and other components are correct.

  • Interior condition:

It's a sober black interior where virtually everything is in top-notch condition. The upholstery is correct for a 76A model. Everything is in near-perfect condition. The trunk is entirely flawless, with a finish that looks factory-fresh. It has a new carpet in the original style and an authentic spare tire.

  • Exterior condition:

On the outside, everything is in top-notch condition. Chrome, rims, and trim are flawless. The rubber seals and gaskets are also fresh, neat, and in good condition. The only remark is a couple of stone chips on a fender edge, and there is a slight dustiness in the paint that can be noticed on the trunk lid. In the fenders and underneath, it's evident that this car has never been repaired. Spot welds, panels, and seams look entirely factory-original.

  • General condition:

A very fine restoration where the pursuit of true originality is evident. An impressive and meticulously detailed car.
