GM and Buick got a hit with their model Buick Type 40 Special. One of the icons from the 30s. This car was sold new in Sweden and is in a fine patinated condition. Several well-known Swedish motor history enthusiasts have owned and looked after the car over the years with valid information recorded by them about the car and actions performed. A review of the bodywork and new paintwork was done in 1978-80. Otherwise, the car is in original condition and of course maintained, serviced and repaired as needed. Now in a lovely and well-functioning condition.

Everything works flawlessly and provides pleasant and calm driving characteristics. The engine is easy to start and runs smoothly and quietly. Nice traction and the gears worked flawlessly. The hydraulic brakes have been checked and they also worked without problems.

Interior condition
Original condition with some patina and wear. The dashboard has lovely graining, a large steering wheel, clear instruments, and a nice headliner.

Exterior condition
The glass and paintwork are in excellent condition, with some patina and wear. If you want an even shinier car, the paint can certainly be polished up.

A well-functioning and historically significant car. Electrics and ignition components, brakes, and the fuel system have all been reviewed and updated in recent years.

Buick startade sin tillverkning redan 1899 och är således en av de äldsta kvarvarande biltillverkarna. När General Motors bildades 1908 var Buick ett av varumärkena i koncernen och positionerades snäppet under GMs prestigemärke Cadillac.
Det var 1931 som Buick lanserade sin raka åttacylindriga motor. Buick hade haft försäljningsnedgångar efter finanskrisen 1929 och de första åren av 30-talet. Till årsmodell 1936 konstruerade man en ny kaross och stil, vilket blev en försäljningsframgång. Designen stod GMs gigant Harley Earl för. Små förändringar gjordes under åren men till 1938 blev det bl.a. en uppgradering av fronten och bensinpåfyllning flyttades från höger till vänster bakskärm.
Till 1938 års modeller fanns det Serie 40 Special om 122 inch wheelbase, Serie 60 med 126 inch wheelbase, Serie 80 med 133 inch wheelbase samt en Serie 90 med 140 inch wheelbase.
Serie 40 Special var således den enklaste modellen men eftersom det var en Buick, var den ändå att betrakta som en premiumbil.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
