"An unusually solid 1800 that has stayed well clear of rust and runs really well."

Description

The car was imported from Oregon and newly registered in Sweden in 2021. The engine has been replaced with a sound B20 equipped with dual SU carburetors. Originally finished in Safari Yellow, the car has now been repainted in a deep red shade. It is rust-free with no signs of previous rust repairs. The interior has been partially replaced and is of high quality. All instruments work except for the clock and oil temperature gauge, and the speedometer reads in km/h. It has the original radio, though it is not connected.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

The engine starts easily and revs freely. The automatic transmission operates without issues. Shock absorbers and suspension components are in good condition. The AC unit has been removed, but the fan and other functions work properly. The car still has its original wheels fitted with new tires.

  • Interior condition

Good condition with new seat cushions from VP Autoparts. The headliner is clean and intact. The seat recline brackets show some scratches—see photos. The dashboard is in excellent shape, with all instruments functioning properly. Engine bay and trunk are in normal condition. The original jack is still present. The choke control under the dashboard is a simple type but works as it should—see photo.

  • Exterior condition

The car has been repainted and the paint is in generally good condition. There are no dents or visible damage to the paint. The chrome is also in good condition, with a small dent on the grille trim—see photo. The window trims are original and show some scratches. Overall, the chrome is in normal condition. New taillights of Swedish specification have been installed. The large U.S.-spec side indicator lights have been removed and the holes welded shut. The car was repainted afterward, and there are no visible traces of the modification.

The panel fitment for the doors, hood, and trunk is good, indicating they have likely never been replaced. There is some minor wear on the front edge of the hood where it meets the front panel—see photo.

  • General condition

A solid and handsome P1800 that retains much of its original appearance.
