Description

The older gentleman who owns this car used to own a bodyshop and restored it in the mid 1980s. Someone stole the front seats while the car was being renovated, so they were replaced with a four-door model that does not tilt forward. The engine was replaced with a similar power unit from another model during the renovation. The car was finished in 1986 and driven for two years before being stored in a warm garage due to the owner's concern that it would be damaged in traffic.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

The car needs a start-up service and inspection; it rolls easily and the engine turns over, but it hasn't been driven in 30 years. During the renovation, the original engine was replaced with a similar power unit. The engine compartment and bootspace are both clean and dry.

  • Interior condition:

The entire interior is in good condition, with a nice dashboard with no cracks and a good instrument panel. The front seats are worn and damaged, and they came from a similar model that did not tilt forward, and the headliner is complete with some marks. Overall, the impression is that it is clean and tidy.

  • Exterior condition:

The bodywork is very clean and straight, and the paintwork is still in excellent condition. Around the bootlid frame, there are three small surface blisters. The vinyl roof is in excellent condition, and the underbody is very solid "see pictures".
The grill with its GS badge gives some false information, this is a 2,5 S version with the 116 hp machine and nothing else.

  • General condition:

The car is remarkably clean and rust free considering it is an older Opel; it has been protected by rust protection and has been stored for 30+ years. With proper service and inspection, it should be simple to put back into service.
