Description

The current owner is a Volvo fanatic who divides his time between France and Sweden; he bought the car in Paris four years ago and it has had a few previous owners. The engine was replaced with an equivalent B20 motor at some point, and it incorporates a special air filtration system, as needed by French pollution legislation. The car has been registered and is inspection/MOT free in 2022. The sole reason for selling is to focus on other projects and spend more time in France.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

The car starts readily and drives extremely well in the engine and transmission, with excellent road holding and braking. The engine is very clean and dry; in recent years, the engine mounts, hoses, steering bushes, and exhaust have all been replaced, in addition to normal maintenance.

  • Interior condition:

Original blue textile seats in good condition, with nice instrumentation and a crack-free dashboard. The door cards and headliner are in good shape, and the carpets are clean despite being a touch worn in the rear. The central clock, located near the gear shift, is a wonderful feature.

  • Exterior condition:

The bodywork is solid, particularly the underbody, with no traces of welding. There are small rust spots around the window frames in the front and rear "See images" and some surface rust in the spare wheel well. The car has been partially repainted and not done to a high standard in certain areas, particularly the bonnet and around the boot, but it is still passable. Steel wheels with good tyres and original hub caps.

  • General condition:

It is in excellent mechanical condition and drives extremely well; it has minor cosmetic faults but is structurally sound overall. It's ideal for anybody searching for a dependable classic car to drive about in the summer.
