Description

It's like looking at a shimmering yellow and black mirage. This is how one of Sweden's best, authentic Opel Rallye Kadetts may be described. An Opel specialist, finished the restoration in Stockholm in 2011. The car won first place in the Kadett class at the Opel Club the same year. The car still feels as good today as it did when it was new. Ready and waiting for fresh rallies. It just needs one more trip to the car test before it is free from inspection and MOT. When you sit behind the wheel with the motor idling and accelerate, you can't help but grin. Since 2016, the car has been displayed at Kisa Bilmuseum. Spare wheels, tools, and a jack are supplied, as are two crates with spare components and documentation.
According to Group 1 rules from 1970: - Group 1 Car  - Close ratio gearbox with a higher first gear - Shifted gimbal with differential lock - Instrument panel - Rally seats - Four-point belt - Skid plate - Reinforced suspension and shock absorbers - Spot lights according to Opel's rally specification at the time, 70-liter Opel Blitz fuel tank in the trunk. A 1900 engine with a twin Weber 40 DFO carburetor (which produced 106 horsepower in the Sprint version). - Front disc brakes with a two-circuit system and a braking servo.
In 1969, the car's new price with rally equipment was SEK 27,400, which was more than the most expensive Volvo (164) at the time.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Excellent technical condition. When tested, it works without a glitch. GHL Bilservice renovated the engine in 2014.

  • Interior condition:

The inside is just as gorgeous as the outside. Rally seats, additional gauges, a roll bar, and Halda's famous gauges tripmaster and speedpilot. New cables are required to connect the Halda gauges.

  • Exterior condition:

From 2008 to 2011, the inside and exterior were professionally renovated and painted.

  • General condition:

Too wonderful to drive on gravel roads in exhibition condition. It does not appear to have been rally driven, since there are no signs of damage or repairs. Everything is just as wonderful on the inside as it is on the exterior and underneath.
OBS! New information: We have information from the owner and from Opel-experts that this car is an original Rallye -Kadett. Regarding the Sprint-engine some experts says that this engine came in production in this model in the end of 1969. We have not found any proof about if the Sprint engine is orginal in the car, so its up to the buyer to investigate this for himself. Chassis nr is 921636834

Facts about the model

I november 1966 lanserades Opel Rallye Kadett.
