Facts about the model

The cars were built to run in very rough terrain with specification requirements of 60% (31 degrees) pitch and 40% (22 degrees) side slope with full load. With a clearance height below the shoulders of 40 cm and a 45 degree clearance angle front and rear, this allowed the vehicle to cross over 60 cm diagonal obstacles and wade into 80 cm deep water. The gearbox consists of a 6-speed automatic gearbox with a 2-speed distribution gearbox, two power take-offs and a maximum speed of up to 90 km / h. Tgb 30 has a winch with 60 m winch line and 9 tonnes of traction on a single part. Tgb 40 has a winch with 50 m winch line and 11 tonnes traction on a single part. The requested design life was set to 100,000 km. The cars would consist of as many Scania standard items as possible and, based on part numbers, it would be more than 70%. In between, Tgb 30 and Tgb 40 were equal to 90%. The biggest difference for the Tgb 40 is a more wheel axle, longer wheelbase and flat, greater load capacity and a supercharger on the engine that gives higher power. Tgb 40 could also be fitted with a staff cab and 1.2 tm electric hydraulic or 5.5 tm hydraulic load crane.
