Husqvarna 250 cross/enduro — 1971

The motocross bike that carries the heritage of the brand that taught the Americans what proper off road biking and motocross is all about. And when the King of Cool wanted to ride and race it – both on and off the silver screen – it was a given success.

Description

Husqvarna's success on the World Motocross GP scene in the 60’s made for an easy transition into the American market where the sport of motocross was lagging. In the fall of 1966 the American importer brought over someone who could fully demonstrate the potential using the proper style and technique. Torsten Hallman won every race he entered in what came to be known as the 23-Moto Streak – an exhibition of superiority that ignited American's imaginations and put Husqvarna on the map in the US.?And when Steve McQueen in 1971 supported the film director into shooting the off road and dirt track biker movie ”On any Sunday” , the Husky got its definitive icon status in America.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

The bike will need some fuel/oil/lubricating maintenance before use, but other than that it's ready to ride.

  • Exterior condition:

Everything is right on this bike, even the side stand, which is a rare original piece. Some polish on the cylinder and engine case, and some polish on the frame would do the bike's appearence even better. And some chain lube as well, of course.

  • General condition:

In all its simplicity and the success story with McQueen's star quality among motorists still intact, this bike is right wherever it sits.
However, the best look is as a stylish and dirty bike off the road, used as it was once intended to be used.
