Ford Fairlane Victoria V8 — 1956

Car was taken to Sweden in 2016 and has received great care from its owner. He has spent about 60000, - on various measures (see evaluation). In appearance, the car was in this fine condition when it came from the United States. He sells the car now because there are a new car in the garage.

• Mechanical condition

  Works fine, smothe skift. Very costly new servo pump, electronic ignition system, brakes, refurbished automatic transmission, new carburetor and generator, etc.

• Interior condition

  Whole and nice interior with few traces of use.

• Exterior condition

  Very nice lacquer, however, some nuance difference between front screen / door and rear screen.
  All chrome in top condition

Ford Crown Victoria was a passenger car built between 1955 and 2011. It was a luxury variant of Ford Fairlane that was recognized by the fact that there was a wide chrome arch across the roof. It was available in two variants, the Ford Crown Victoria, and the Ford Crown Victoria Skyliner. The later was recognized by the fact that the front of the roof, in front of the chrome arch, was made of plexiglass. This attracted much attention, but made the car difficult to sell in the warmer states of the United States. Therefore, the Skyliner was built in very few copies. Nevertheless, the car is relatively common in Sweden. One theory is that Ford sent the copies that could not be sold in the United States to Sweden, which had a more suitable climate for the fixed plexi roof. One thing that confirms it is that most Crown Victoria Skyliner found in the country are Swedish-sold 56s, and they are almost all registered on the same date in 1957.

In the early 1980s, Ford re-used the name Crown Victoria on a more luxurious variant of Ford LTD, later Crown Victoria replaced the LTD completely, which is why you can still buy a car named Crown Victoria today. The current model has been built since 1992. Of many, it is regarded as the last real jumper, when it is full-size, built on a frame and equipped with a V8 engine. Its closest competitor, Chevrolet Caprice, has gone out of production a long time ago. However, it is not imported to Sweden by Ford Sweden, but on the other hand new Ford Crown Victoria cars are imported by independent car importers. Ford Crown Victoria and its sister model Mercury Grand Marquis are scheduled to cease production in September 2011 [1]. The closure also applies to Lincoln Town Car, which shares a platform with Crown Victoria.
