Facts about the model
Volvo ÖV4 was Volvo's first car model, where "ÖV4" stands for "Öppen Vagn 4 cylinders". The model was introduced on the market in 1927, but already in the last week of August 1926 a press release was sent out with pictures on the car. The car has been nicknamed "Jakob" by the aftermath, which will originate from the 10 Galaxy Galaxy (G.A. Lindquist & Co.) production line at Hälsingegatan 41, Stockholm, which was completed on July 25, 1926, when Jakob has a name. The first series of cars were driven from factory factory at Hisingen in Gothenburg by sales manager Hilmer Johansson on Thursday's April 14th, 1927, shortly after 10 o'clock in the morning. It was the day Volvo was officially "born" as a car company even though Volvo as a car company was founded at SKF's Board meeting in Hofors already on August 10, 1926, as a wholly owned subsidiary of SKF, when it took part in a share capital of SEK 200,000
