Description

Morris Minor 8, a small two-seater car closely related to the MG-M. The Morris is equipped with a simpler and more reliable side-valve engine than the MG's, and it is lighter and often cheaper to maintain. This model was Morris Motors' answer to the Austin Seven, which at this time had several sporty variants. Finding a nice little Morris is more unusual and definitely worth considering. This example is right-hand drive. The current owner has owned the car since 2001, and it has been part of his car collection. The Morris has been renovated to a good condition and has been stored indoors in a heated location since at least 2001. It's hard to comment on the car's mileage as it has been renovated and the odometer reads 1941 km.

Facts about the model

The 1931 Morris Minor 8 is an early, classic British car. It was launched as a compact and affordable vehicle, primarily targeting middle-class buyers. The Morris Minor 8 was created during a period when the demand for small, economical cars was increasing due to the Great Depression. Thus, the car was designed to be affordable and reliable for the intended car owner. It was a direct competitor to the Austin Seven, which was also a popular small car in the UK. The Morris Minor became a commercial success and helped Morris Motors to consolidate its position as one of Britain's leading car manufacturers. It played a key role in the company's strategy to produce cars for the mass market and also helped to lay the foundation for Morris's later successes, including the famous post-war model, the 1948 Morris Minor. In summary, the Morris Minor 8 was a simple but significant car in British automotive history, appreciated for its user-friendliness and economical design.
