Description
During her ownership, the car has mainly been enjoyed during the summer months and maintained by her family. Around three years ago, it was repainted to a good standard in a shade similar to its original Savannah Beige. Some welding repairs have also been carried out around the rear suspension mounting areas in the boot.
The interior is clean and tidy, with well-preserved seats beneath the rear seat covers. The main imperfection is a crack in the dashboard pad. A set of new tyres has also been fitted recently.
The Saab has proved to be a reliable and enjoyable summer classic throughout her ownership. After ten years of happy motoring, it is now time for another enthusiast to take over and enjoy this charming Swedish classic.
Technical data
Condition
-
Mechanical condition
The car starts directly, and the engine runs smoothly and steadily once given a minute to warm up. On the road, it feels stable, with easy gear changes and good brakes.
Under the bonnet, a general clean and some cosmetic painting around the heater blower would improve the presentation. A new battery has recently been fitted, along with a set of new tyres mounted on smart silver steel wheels with bright chrome hubcaps.
The car is inspection-exempt and ready to enjoy, although a general service would be recommended as good preventative maintenance. -
Interior condition
Interior is complete and in good overall condition, with no major issues to report. The front seats are well preserved, and the rear seats also look good beneath their covers. Door cards, interior panels, headliner and carpets are all in good condition, with only minor damage to the chrome trim on the passenger-side door card.
The dashboard pad has a crack, but the original instruments and gauges are present and working. A more modern radio has also been fitted. -
Exterior condition
A presentable and attractive car with straight bodywork, no notable dents or damage, and no significant rust issues, although some small rust blisters are visible along the inner door edges. The underbody looks solid, with signs of some older repairs.
The car has been repainted to a good standard, with a bright and shiny finish. There are a few minor marks and scratches, but nothing particularly noticeable. Some paint cracking has started to appear to the left of the Saab badge. The chrome trim on the driver's door has lifted slightly and needs refitting.
The rear light lens and front left indicator lens are cracked. The chrome work is generally bright and clean, and there is a small stone chip in the centre of the windscreen.
Overall, a smart-looking classic Saab with a few minor cosmetic details that could be improved over time. A thorough wash and clean would further improve its presentation. -
General condition
A perfect classic for an enthusiast looking for something simple, reliable and easy to own. Nothing major needs attention, just a routine service, an engine bay tidy-up and a thorough wash and clean to have this Saab looking its best and ready to enjoy.
