"A handsome and well-kept Jaguar XJ6. The car was meticulously maintained by its late owner. The car is now being sold on behalf of the heirs. A routine service is recommended after 3 years in storage. We are not aware of anything requiring immediate attention before inspection."

Description

The car was first registered in Sweden on November 15, 1994. We do not know much about its early history. On July 27, 2009, the car was acquired by a Mr. Kvist, residing on Alnön outside Sundsvall. He was a great admirer of British culture and almost an anglophile, according to his friends. The Jaguar became his "pride and joy," to borrow an English expression. He took very good care of the car; it was only driven on more festive occasions and only in the summer. The car was always parked in a heated garage, according to the family. In 2023, Mr. Kvist passed away, and the car has since been kept in the garage under the supervision of the heirs. The Jaguar was last inspected in 2022 and is currently banned from road use due to a lapsed inspection. It will therefore need to be taken in for an inspection before it can be put back on the road. The odometer shows just over 160,000 km, and we find nothing to suggest otherwise. The car has been carefully serviced at a small repair shop. The heirs are currently searching for the service records, which we hope to be able to present before the auction closes.

The car's license plate "TODAY" is a so-called personalized license plate and is not included with the car. The car's regular license plates will be mounted at delivery.

This is a distance auction. Photos and information about the vehicle and its technical condition have been obtained from the owner. BWA has therefore not inspected the car on site at the seller's location.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

Starts easily and runs well. No test drive has been carried out as the car is currently deregistered. Equipped with the entry-level engine, a 3.2-liter straight-six producing 211 horsepower. The gearbox is a 4-speed automatic. Reportedly, everything worked technically, including the air conditioning, when the car was put into the garage in 2023.

  • Interior condition

Leather upholstery in classic British style. The interior is in good condition, with normal wear on the driver's seat backrest. The headliner sags slightly at the rear, by the back seat. See photos.

  • Exterior condition

Looks unusually fine and well-maintained. Nevertheless, expect a certain degree of wear, relative to its age and mileage.
Please study the pictures carefully for more information about the car's condition.

  • General condition

Well-maintained Jaguar XJ6 (X300) with the same owner since 2009. Makes a good overall impression.

Facts about the model

Jaguar XJ6 (internal code X300) was launched in the fall of 1994 as a 1995 model. This model series marked an important turning point for Jaguar during a period when the marque was owned by Ford, which led to major improvements in both build quality and reliability. Its predecessor, the XJ40 (1986–1994), had been criticized for being too angular and for having lost the classic, flowing Jaguar lines. When the X300 was introduced, Jaguar, under chief designer Geoff Lawson and Howard Guy, had given the car a substantial facelift. The classic front with four round headlights was reintroduced, and the hood received the traditional sculpted contours following the shape of the headlights; the rear end was also rounded off to give the car a sleeker and more timeless British profile. The XJ6 designation meant that the car was equipped with an inline six-cylinder engine. For the 1995 model year, the legendary AJ16 engine was introduced, a further development of the earlier AJ6 engine.
