Description

This moped comes from the private collection of a dedicated Puch enthusiast, whose bikes we are now auctioning. The owner has been collecting and renovating Puch mopeds for over 20 years, with renovation work carried out both by himself and other well-known Puch experts. The focus has always been on preserving originality, using correct details and sourcing NOS (new old stock) parts whenever possible.

When asked about the typical cost to fully renovate a moped from top to bottom, the owner estimated it to be between 30,000–40,000 SEK—excluding the initial purchase price of the moped.

Produced between 1974 and 1976, the Racing became Puch’s heaviest moped to date at 86 kg. Its relatively high price likely limited its success, and after just three years on the market, Puch discontinued the model in 1976, having sold around 2,000 units in Sweden. This example is a Puch 1467 model with matching frame and engine numbers (9841200).

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Fully renovated and stored in a collection ever since, this moped will be delivered serviced and ready for its next owner. Eagle-eyed enthusiasts may notice that the rear brake arm is currently mounted incorrectly — it should sit under the hub rather than over — and this will be corrected before delivery.

  • Interior condition:

The seat and handgrips are both in like-new condition

  • Exterior condition:

The moped is in absolutely tip-top condition, with no damage, dents, or rust. The paintwork gleams, and all the chrome details shine brightly. A nice detail on this model is the turned-up edges on the lower sections of the mudguards, and — unlike most other Puchs — the exhaust pipe is mounted on the left side.

  • General condition:

Now’s the perfect time to treat yourself to the moped you once missed out on — and one that’s sure to turn heads at the next moped rally.
