Description

Most likely newly delivered in Sweden as a 1956 model. In 1992, it was re-registered, probably in Sörmland, and obtained its current registration. For the last 13 years, it has been located in the Gothenburg area. The current owner bought the scooter ten years ago and eventually installed the modern and slightly tuned engine that it has now. He found it through the active vintage scooter scene in Sweden and also in our neighboring countries. The latest and final inspection was done on August 1, 2018.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

    Modern engine, a 1987 Vespa PX125 equipped with an adapter and enhanced with a 177 cc cylinder from Polini, 60 mm longstroke crankshaft with custom head, Dellorto PHBH carburetor, and SIP Road muffler. Good torque and nice power output. The engine has a race history from the era when the Swedish Scooter Club organized vintage scooter races on karting tracks. Currently, the air filter is removed for better breathing, but it is advisable to properly equip it with an air filter installed. The front brake needs adjustment for a bit more bite and earlier engagement.

  • Interior condition:

    Bra singelsadlar, den bakre är omklädd med någon ljusare vinyl (överbliven klädsel till Land Rover) och ryggstödsramen är lackad i vitt.

  • Exterior condition:

    Garage-painted with various finishes on the surfaces and some drips, but still with a presentable exterior and a willing-to-use attitude. Newer Michelin S83 tires with vintage pattern for the right look.

  • General condition:

    A bit mischievous in appearance, but also a classic look. It can be further accentuated with a few small cosmetic enhancements such as emblems, paint treatment, perhaps a rear lowering, a center stand, and a newly manufactured kickarm with an older look.

Facts about the model

I Sverige kallades de Touring, en populär vardagsscooter för femtiotalets trafik. Namnet tog den svenska generalagenten förmodligen från den tyska marknaden där modellen hette Touren. Modellen sålde bra här och de tillhör en kategori från varumärket som inom entusiastkretsar kallas wide frame. Alla scootrar från Piaggio före 1958 kan definieras av det epitetet. Efter 1958 är alla stora Vespa-scootrar från Piaggo en large frame, det vill säga från Popolino, 150GL och GS160 till den sista modellen av PX125/150/200, ända fram till 2017. Men, som ett undantag, tillverkades den sportiga modellen GS150 (en wideframe) fram till 1961. Naturligtvis finns även begreppet smallframe och de modellerna är följaktligen också en mindre konstruktion som innefattar mopedscooters och lättare hojar på 90-125 cm3.

  • During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
  • Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
  • When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
  • If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
  • If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
  • Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
  • For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
