Very good and well kept example of the smallest Saab model's top version, the 96 GL. The final iteration of the model's development, which began in 1947 and continued in revised forms until 1980.
Unrenovated and rust-free, with original paint. It has only travelled 96680 kilometers since new and has a lovely interior and is fun to drive.
The car was first owned by a Norsjö resident until 2006. After that, it went to Skellefteå and Nordingrå in 2014, before arriving in Stockholm in 2019.
The present owner, a Saab enthusiast, purchased the car in the autumn of 2020, performed a service and review, and has since driven the car lightly this summer. Because the owner now has more projects to complete, he has opted to sell this gem.

Drives well, has just been serviced, and has travelled around 500 kilometers since then.

Interior condition
The original interior is really lovely and well-preserved. On the right side of the rear seat armrest, there is a little damage.

Exterior condition
The original paint is in fair shape, however minor stone chips on the hood have been touched up. There are small blemishes on the door edges. The Blicker lenses are sun-bleached, and there are cracks in the upper border of the windscreen.

A lovely and functional classic that is a good car for an enthusiast due to its nicely patinated condition.

Facts about the model
Saab 96 ritades av den kände industridesignern Sixten Sason och tillverkades av Saab mellan 1960 till 1980. Saab 96 var en vidareutveckling av Saab 93 och hade stora likheter med föregångaren, som i sin tur var en vidareutveckling av Saabs första personbil - Saab 92. Under 1967 gick man över från 2-taktsmotorer till V4 motorn. De sista två åren var modellbeteckningen för 96 GL V4 Super, då bilens motor fått några fler hästkrafter (65 Hkr) och inredning, isolering, krockskydd med mera förbättrats. Dessa bilar känns igen på de tjockare kofångarna och var toppmodellen på bilens utveckling under 20 års tid. Dessa GL-bilar byggdes ihop hos Valmet i Nystad i Finland, i samma fabrik som exempelvis Porsche Boxter monteras idag, sedan 1997). Dessa i Finlands byggda Saab-bilar är mer eller mindre handbyggda och anses därför av Saabentusister vara av högre kvalitet än de som byggdes i fabriken i Trollhättan (bland annat är alla karosskarvar tätade noga och bilarna har fått ett bättre rostskydd).
Under större delen av sin livstid tillverkades Saab 96 parallellt med kombimodellen som hette Saab 95. I Sverige kan man fortfarande finna Saab 96:or i bruksskick på vägarna, i norra Sverige då de är kända som lättkörda bilar med goda köregenskaper på vinterväglag.
Saab 96 var en mycket framgångsrik tävlingsbil, särskilt inom rally. Bland höjdpunkterna märks Erik Carlssons segrar i RAC-rallyt 1960, 1961 och 1962, Monte Carlo-rallyt 1962 och 1963. Stig Blomqvist segrade i RAC-rallyt 1971 och Svenska rallyt 1971, 1972 och 1973. Sista stora segern var Svenska rallyt 1976, med Per Eklund bakom ratten.
Riktigt fina exemplar, som denna med originallack, lite körda mil och utan rost är dock synnerligen sällsynta. Tillfälle för Saab-samlare alltså.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
