Volkswagen Typ 4 411 LE Variant 1.7 — 1972

A pleasant and meticulously restored 411a. A station wagon model we don't see every day on Swedish roads. "Luxery isn´t only for the rich" – yes, that was the slogan for this model in 1972.

"A well-restored 411a that has been completely disassembled down to the last detail. There are only a few minor items that could be improved, as described below. Fun to drive and a real head-turner."

Description

What we have been able to trace regarding this pleasant car is history from 1997. Four owners since then. Overall, we can say that the owners who have had the car appear to have maintained it very carefully. There are many stamps in the service book, many undercoating treatments, and in addition the car has now been fully restored by the current owner. The low mileage cannot be guaranteed, but most likely it has covered just over 140,000 km. The car has undergone an extensive restoration process during 24-25, covering essentially everything. Some parts could be reused from the original, but many NOS parts have replaced worn components.
Restoration photos vouch for a very serious restoration carried out by professionals in the field.

Restored or new parts fitted.
New clutch, discs, release bearing and machined pressure plate. New front brake calipers incl. pads. New rear brake cylinders incl. linings. New rear shock absorbers and coilovers at the front. Fuel pump, injectors and all fuel lines replaced. New CV joints and boots. Tow hitch fitted. Inner fenders included but not fitted.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

Everything in good working order on the technical side. Engine and gearbox in full harmony, and gauges and other functions are OK. The car is fitted with a replacement engine equivalent to the original. Many measures carried out, as described above.
Refurbished wheels with tires from 2021, like new. Spare wheel and jack, along with a large number of spare parts, are included. Two sets of keys

  • Interior condition

The upholstery is in very fine condition, though there are two areas of wear on the driver's seat backrest (see pictures). Fine carpets with only one small area of wear at the left rear. Fine door panels and dashboard. The headliner has some holes which we judge to be difficult to repair. This will likely need to be replaced in time. The original radio is present and lights up, but crackles considerably.

  • Exterior condition

A very professional paint job. No visible damage to the body. Fine chrome, glass, and mirrors. The trim is also in good condition, with some pieces original and others replaced. Nice in the trunk area

  • General condition

A pleasure to see such a fine 411a. These are becoming rare on Swedish roads, and according to the Swedish vehicle registry, only around forty remain registered. Thus, you will most likely be the only 411a owner at most car meets.
