Description
The car was purchased as a restoration project by the current owner's father-in-law many years ago. It was in great need of rust repair and had fallen out of the vehicle registry. The current owner bought it in 2017, skillfully welded it, and restored the necessary details. The car was sent for painting, then reassembled, inspected, and made road-ready. Since then, it has been used very sparingly during the summer months.

Mechanical condition
It runs smoothly and functions without any issues. The gears shift easily, and the brakes work well without pulling to one side.

Interior condition
The original interior has a nice patina, with some seam repairs in the seats. The door panels are intact but slightly sun-faded, and a simple detailing would make them look really nice.

Exterior condition
The car was repainted in its original color in 2017 and has held up well without any major issues. The chrome is in good condition, with a few minor pitting spots on the emblems. The tires are in good shape, mounted on painted original wheels.

A rare sight on our roads today, this is a more luxurious variant with a straight-six engine that purrs smoothly.

Facts about the model
Ford Zephyr/Zodiac is a series of passenger cars produced in four generations by Ford's British subsidiary between 1950 and 1972.
Mk III (1962-65)
The third generation once again received new bodies, but much of the mechanics were shared with its predecessors. The engines were modified for higher output, and the cars were equipped with a four-speed gearbox. The name "Consul" was discontinued, and the model was replaced by a four-cylinder Zephyr. Abbott also built its estate model in the Mk III version. Zephyr 4 replaced the Consul model, and an automatic gearbox was introduced as an option for the four-cylinder engine.
Zephyr 6 differed from the four-cylinder model with a larger radiator grille, six-cylinder engine, stronger brakes, lower numerical rear axle ratio, and more.
Zodiac
The luxurious Zodiac was now more distinct than ever from its sibling models, with completely unique rear door designs, roofline, and rear section. The interior and dashboard were significantly more upscale. Contrary to popular belief, the Zodiac shared its engine with the Zephyr. The only differences were a slightly larger carburetor and a more efficient exhaust system. In the final months of production, before the model was replaced by the Mk IV, a fully equipped Executive version was also offered.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
