FN M67D 500cc OHV — 1930

This FN M67 D was purchased in 1980 and underwent many years of renovation, which was completed around 2005. It comes with a vast amount of older documentation and appears to be a 1929 model that was registered in Sweden on April 19, 1930.

"The owner's wife recently inherited the bike from her husband, and she believes it was last ridden approximately 2-3 years ago. BWA has not tested or started the bike, but it demonstrates good compression when kicked over, and both the brakes and gearbox are functioning. It will need a review and a startup service to prepare it for the road again."

Description

The documentation is extensive, comprising two full folders, so reviewing everything takes time. However, I found older registration paperwork showing ownership records dating back to 1946 from around Finja and Norra Åkarp. The frame number 28415 matches the bike today, but the original engine number was 22104, and the current engine number is 10169, indicating that the engine has been changed at some point.

The owner's husband purchased the bike in 1980 from a seller in Gislaved and spent years researching it, completing a lengthy renovation around 2005. It seems that everything was done to keep the bike as original as possible, including the correct paint color and FN logos. Overall, everything on the bike looks to be in good working order, but it will require a review and startup service.

FN motorcycle, a brand with a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1889 in Belgium.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

The bike has not been started or tested by BWA and will need a review and a full startup service. The inside of the fuel tank has been recently painted and sealed, indicating no rust issues, and it was probably ridden about 2-3 years ago.

  • Interior condition:

The bike features a nice, undamaged leather seat along with an extra passenger seat, adding to its comfort and functionality.

  • Exterior condition:

The bike is in wonderful condition with no dents or damages, and both the paintwork and chrome details look great. It has been very well cared for, even though the renovation was completed approximately 20 years ago. The only note is that the fin on the cylinder head shows slight rust (see picture). Additionally, it could benefit from a chrome polish and a general polish to enhance its appearance.

  • General condition:

This is a wonderful-looking bike that has clearly been renovated properly and with care, maintaining as much originality as possible. It's also a rare find in Sweden these days, making it even more special for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
