Description
This car has had four owners, all of whom have taken extremely good care of it and driven it very sparingly. The car is almost like new both inside and out. The equipment list is extensive, including features that were top-notch for that time, such as power steering, rear window defroster, rear seat belts, an electric clock in the center panel, and more. The current owner inherited the car in 2014 and has driven it barely 300 miles since then. The Volvo has always been stored in a garage when not in use.

The car runs excellently, and everything works. It has been serviced and well-maintained over the years. It is equipped with power steering, which functions smoothly.

Interior condition
The original beige leather interior is in impeccable condition with few signs of use. Only a small seam has come loose on the driver's seatback. It's a pleasure to sit in and enjoy the fresh leather scent.

Exterior condition
Professionally repainted in its original color five years ago with windows and all trim removed. The reason for repainting was that the original paint on the hood and trunk lid had started to crack. All chrome is in top condition, as are the wheels and tires.

General condition
An amazing 164 that is completely roadworthy and well worth preserving for the future.

Owner's comment
The car was purchased by a Mr. Nilsson in Ludvika as the first owner in 1971. Several years later, still in Ludvika, the car was bought by my father, who owned it until 2014 when I inherited it. The car even became a 'celebrity' and appeared in the SVT documentary series 'Allt går i arv.' The car has driven just under 300 kilometers since 2014, has been regularly serviced, and stored in a heated garage.
Facts about the model
The development of the Volvo 164 began in the late 1950s when Volvo planned to introduce a larger model than the Amazon, which was the largest Volvo at the time. The model was intended to have a V8 engine, but the planned model never made it past the prototype stage.
As all Volvo models were aging, priority shifted to developing a replacement for the Amazon. This resulted in the 140 series, and to save development costs, even the luxury model 164 was based on this platform. To distinguish it, the 164 had a different front-end design to visually set it apart. The front of the car was also 20 cm longer than the 144, providing space for a six-cylinder inline engine, based on the new B20 engine that replaced the B18. The equipment level in the 164 was higher than in the 140 series, including features like leather upholstery. A sunroof was available as an option, and an automatic transmission (3-speed Borg Warner) was also available as an option.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
