Description
The ID model was simple but a very modern car for its time. The ID model was developed as a base version of the DS when production of the Traction Avant, sold in the 1930s ceased. This is an early variant from 1961 in a lovely colour combination. The car is today in a good patinated condition.
After a fire, the car was restored in the mid-80s, see pictures. It has since passed through a few enthusiasts and five years ago the clutch and hydraulic system were renovated and the front brake calliper was replaced, by Rohdins in Trollhättan. Unfortunately, there was air (after a long standstill) in the hydraulic system at the time of the photo inspection, it has now been fixed and the system works smoothly and flawlessly in all modes.
The car has been driven sparingly in recent years.

Mechanical condition
The engine starts easily and runs fine with smooth gear shifts. Minor rust under both wings.

Interior condition
A nice interior that appears to be original with some patina. Nice carpets. A special detail is an inscription, on the inside of the glove box, with autographs from Mikael Persbrandt and Mads Mikkelsen, when the car was used in a film shoot.

Nice original fibreglass roof, paint in good patinated condition, glass in nice condition and good tyres.

A classic car that attracts attention and is now waiting for a new owner who can manage and refine this French beauty.

Facts about the model
På Parissalongen i oktober 1955 presenterades Citroën DS 19. Det var kanske inte en jordbävning som utlöstes men den var en av bilhistorians största "snackisar" och succés genom tiderna. En allt igenom futuristisk skapelse med mängder av ny teknik medförde en enorm uppmärksamhet och spring i vändkorsen. Bara under mässveckan tecknades 12.000 förhandsorders, trots krav på 10% i handpenning. Nåväl, resten är bilhistoria och en ikon föddes där och då. Visst det blev stora problem med leveranser och mängder av "barnsjukdomar" på den nya skapelsen men så småningom började såväl produktion som bilar att rulla på.
Utveckling och uppdateringar gjordes och i mars 1957 påbörjades produktionen av en förenklad version, ID 19. Den har konventionellt bromssystem, ingen styrservo, enklare inredning etc. På ett sätt kanske bättre och mer tillförlitlig. Modellen hittade tidigt sina köpare även här, enligt uppgift såldes 213 DS och 77 ID i Sverige av årsmodell 1957. ID-modellen var en enklare och billigare version som sedan i stort följde utvecklingen av DS-modellen, vid olika uppdateringar under 60-talet. Den enklare ID-modellen ersätts sedermera av D-super till årsmodell 1970.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
