Description
All servicing over the years has been carried out carefully according to schedule, with stamps and notes in the service book up to the present day. In 2012, the car moved to the Helsingborg area, later to Örkelljunga, before the current owner from Gothenburg purchased it in 2016. He has continued the maintenance and preservation work and has added just over 60,000 km in almost ten years — averaging a few hundred miles per year. With other cars in the stable, it hasn’t been driven much lately.
The most recent approved inspection was carried out quite recently, on August 11, 2025.
Technical data
Condition
-
Mechanical condition
A pleasant V6 with roots in Australia. A global GM engine, of course, but according to reports, the V6 units for the Trollhättan factory came from Down Under. It’s a fun detail to have a Holden engine under the hood — especially one that’s been Stage 1 tuned by BSR. The current owner has compiled a small list of technical maintenance items (see photo), all verified by receipts and invoices collected in a binder. The gearbox, chassis, and brakes are therefore also in good working order and well maintained.
-
Interior condition
Inviting light-colored interior with the usual entry wear on the driver’s seat. Otherwise, it presents a fresh overall impression — clean and tidy headliner, carpets, dashboard, trim, and door panels. Overall, it’s in better condition than its mileage of just over 190,000 km might suggest. The climate control system blows cold and works efficiently.
-
Exterior condition
Presentable and attractive, though some rust can be seen upon closer inspection — mainly around the rear wheel arches and the lower rear sections of the front fenders. The right side mirror is auto-dimming, but that function is starting to fail. An easy fix would be to replace it with a standard mirror glass. Original wheels in good condition, fitted with older Goodyear tires at the rear and Dunlops at the front, both with acceptable tread depth. The model's problems with the timing chain tensioner and chains may be related to the excessively long service intervals and long-life oil used by many manufacturers. More frequent changes than recommended save timing chains. The auction car has frequent oil changes in its service history and has had oil service 8 times in the last 7 years and 28 600 km's. This is far above the recommended amount and the car has - according to the workshop and the owner - had no tendency to problems with tensioners or chains.
-
General condition
A charming factory representative from the brand’s final years, offering plenty of driving enjoyment thanks to its engine setup. With proper metal and paint work on the fenders and wheel arches, this will become a fun and attractive collector’s Saab for the future.
