Description

This vehicle was registered for road use on January 31, 2001. On April 5, 2004, it was acquired by a company operating a hotel business. On December 30, 2010, the company owner purchased the vehicle privately when the business was wound down. Since then, it has been driven considerably more sparingly.

The current owner acquired the vehicle from the business owner on October 25, 2024, at an odometer reading of 237,990 km. It has since been used mostly as a “second car” for commuting to work, transporting children (ISOFIX on the passenger seat), and towing a boat trailer. The current mileage is 250,140 km.

After the 165,000-km service recorded in the service book during its time as a company car, regular maintenance has been performed privately. On November 1 this year, a service was carried out including an engine oil and filter change, fuel filter replacement, new oil and filter in the transmission, oil in the transfer case, and oil in both the front and rear differentials—receipt available.

The vehicle’s equipment includes outlets for an engine heater and cabin heater on the passenger side, a fully functional wireless alarm system, and keys for the locking fuel cap.

Included with the car are the original Swedish owner’s manuals, a stamped service book, a binder with various receipts and documents, the original brochure, and two keys. Studded winter tires are included. The car passed inspection on November 4 this year and is ready to drive.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Starts easily and runs smoothly and steadily in both engine and drivetrain, yet has plenty of power available when desired. Test-driven on smaller country roads, where everything felt to be functioning well, including the steering and automatic transmission with working kickdown. Quiet, stable, and trustworthy road-handling characteristics, along with good brakes. Not inspected on a lift, but we were able to see reasonably well underneath, and the vital components appeared to be in good condition. Rustproofed a couple of years ago. No remarks from the vehicle inspection at the latest check.

  • Interior condition:

Well-preserved original leather interior with good comfort, though there is a small tear on the driver’s seat. Door panels, headliner, and carpets are in fine condition. Rubber floor mats are included. The steering wheel, controls, dashboard, and gauges are all in good condition. All electrical functions work, except for the AC, which is non-functional. The stereo system is good, and as a bit of fun trivia, a Creedence Clearwater Revival CD is included — it has followed the car from previous owners and adds to the authentic feel.

In the rear you can seat passengers, or, with the seat folded up, create a large and practical cargo space. The rear doors can only be opened if the front doors are opened first.

  • Exterior condition:

Paintwork appears to be in original condition. The rear wheel arches have been repaired previously and display a slightly different shade. Some surface rust has now appeared in those areas. Chrome, trim, emblems, and lighting details are in good condition considering the vehicle’s age and mileage. The glass is good, though there are a couple of stone chips in the windshield. Wheels and tires are in good condition. The bed shows light patina and comes with a nice fiberglass canopy.

  • General condition:

A vehicle for those who appreciate a versatile American pickup. Few examples can be found in such well-preserved original condition. It has now spent 25 years on our roads as both a dependable workhorse and a fine everyday car. Either way, it is now heading toward classic and enthusiast status.

Facts about the model

Chevrolet Silverado has been available in various versions since 1975, when the name was used to indicate the highest possible equipment and comfort level on GM’s C and K series pickups. Chevrolet Silverado and GMC’s Sierra have historically been nearly identical. Today, the Silverado is marketed as the tougher of the two, while the Sierra is considered the more luxurious model.

At the turn of the millennium, the GMT800 platform replaced the older platform used for the C and K models. From 2007 onward, the new GMT900 platform was introduced.

There were versions with payload capacities ranging from 1 ton and towing capacities of 3.6 tons, up to 2.5 tons of payload and towing capacities of 7.5 tons. Cab configurations included two-door Regular Cab, extended three- or four-door Extended Cab, and four-door Crew Cab. Various bed lengths were offered, along with light- or heavy-duty versions featuring differences in wheels, suspension, and gearing. Engine options ranged from 4.3L V6 engines to 8.1L V8 engines, as well as a 6.6L diesel V8.
