Description

The current owner purchased the bike new in 1968 from the Swedish importer Kurt Gran in Motala. He rode it for two seasons, always being the first to the first corner, but after that, it went straight ahead. It had a strong and well-regarded engine, but a less effective front fork design. "You couldn't really turn with it," he recalls, but he persevered with the bike for those two seasons nonetheless.

After selling it, he kept track of its whereabouts and eventually bought it back in 1996. Between 2006 and 2016, the owner restored the Bultaco to its original specifications and appearance.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

The engine, crankshaft, and carburetor have been restored with the correct parts, but have not been started. The owner believes that today's fuel will cause the tank to crack. Therefore, a relining of the tank is necessary before starting it. Otherwise, everything mechanical has been refurbished or is new.

  • Interior condition:

Not much in terms of interior on a motocross bike, but new handles, rubber details, and a reupholstered seat are things worth noting.

  • Exterior condition:

Renovated with new and genuine chassis parts; rims, dampers, springs, cable housings, and cables. Correct paint, emblems, and decals.

  • General condition:

In its current status and condition, it is most suitable as a fine exhibition or museum piece, but with a tank prepared for the day's fuel, there are no issues taking it out for a vintage cross-country tour on the track, although the current owner believes it would be a pity to compromise its fine condition.

Facts about the model

The model was sold in versions for motocross, scrambler, and TT scrambler. The latter two were probably the most dominant in the North American market.
