"This car needs some rust repair around the wings and lower front panels, and the interior needs tidying. An ideal winter project – easy to fix, cheap parts, and a very reasonable reserve price."

Description

This car is being sold on behalf of the owner’s estate. It has had only three registered owners from new. According to the family, the late owner purchased it from a local man in 2006, who had owned it since 1984. The car has spent most of its life in the Västervik area.

The car remained running and inspected until a few years ago, with its last inspection in 2019, after which it became inspection-exempt. Unfortunately, it has since been stored outdoors and now shows some rust issues.

The engine turns over freely but currently lacks spark, most likely due to a faulty ignition coil. It will need a general review, but the engine bay appears clean and in good overall condition.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

The car has not been started or properly tested. The engine turns over freely but does not fire, most likely due to a faulty ignition coil or electrical issue. It was running up until a few years ago and is now inspection-exempt. The wheels and hubcaps are in good condition, fitted with older tyres. The car will need to be collected by trailer, but it rolls easily and is simple to load.

  • Interior condition

Interior is generally used and worn, with damage to the seats, headliner, flooring, and door cards. The dashboard is complete and in good condition, and the car is fitted with a sport steering wheel.

  • Exterior condition

The car is complete, with rust visible around all wings and seams near the bodywork. Ideally, these areas will need repair or replacement. There is also rust in the lower front panel and signs of older welding repairs on the underbody. The paintwork is overall acceptable, and would look much better after a good clean and polish. The chrome trim all around is clean and bright.

  • General condition

These cars are easy to repair, with body panels readily available and affordable. There are many possibilities — you could restore it, build something custom, or use it as a good donor car. The choice is yours, and we’ve set a very reasonable reserve price to make it an attractive opportunity.
