Condition

Mechanical condition
It started easily and ran smoothly and quietly. During a test drive in a residential area and on through roads, the steering, clutch, gearbox, and brakes were found to work well. The Aero power and road feel were also tested somewhat more aggressively than the traffic planners may have intended, but the result was a positive entry on the driving-pleasure account.
Not checked on a lift, but the car's history, what could be seen, and the inspection records all looked good. It also passed inspection at Bilprovningen the same day, after a rear bracket for the exhaust system had been repaired. -
Interior condition
Very fine and well-maintained original interior in Dark Grey leather with fine comfort in the bolstered Aero seats and seating. Door panels, trim panels, headliner, and floor mats in equally good condition. Steering wheel, controls, dashboard (carbon fiber), and gauges in fine condition. Some pixel defects in the radio display. All electrical functions work well, as does the ventilation/climate control, both heat and cooling. Fine and well-preserved trunk.

Exterior condition
Fine and well-preserved, seemingly original paintwork in Steel Grey Metallic. Fine glass, trim, emblems, and lighting details; the headlight on the driver's side has a stone chip. Fine wheels, though a couple have met curbs. Tires are good but somewhat older. Well-kept engine bay,

General condition
This is a car with a 25-year history, a devoted owner/driver, excellent care, and low mileage. It is generously equipped in its Aero trim, which is moreover well maintained, with details of that new-car feel still lingering. It is an interesting classic and enthusiast car from Saab and the era around the turn of the millennium.

Facts about the model
Generation 1 of the new 9-3 model, produced 1998-2003, was thus primarily a facelift of the earlier 900 model. New bumper design, new grille, and a revised rear end, partly following a concept similar to the larger 9-5 model. The chassis and crash safety were also updated. Body styles were three- and five-door hatchbacks as well as a popular Convertible. At the top of the range was the Aero version with 205 hp and impressive performance, along with a styling package including deeper bumpers and side skirts, a sport chassis, and special wheels. Inside, you could enjoy sport seats in leather with turbo embossing. In addition, a potent special model was produced, the Viggen. The 9-3 was a relatively popular mid-size car, both a practical and pleasant road car with fine driving characteristics and classic Saab feel.
A total of approximately 326,000 units of Generation 1, or OG as it was also known, were produced.
