"A car whose exterior needs a lot of love. The interior is in better condition than the outside, which can be considered fair usable condition."

Description

This car was registered in April 1974. The vehicle registry lists four owners, and we have managed to trace two. The current owner purchased the car in July 1977 and used it until the fall of 1985. Since then, the car has been stored on a concrete floor in a machine shed. Cold storage with good ventilation. Despite this, rust has taken hold of large parts of the body. The fender edges and the lower sections of the doors are in poor condition. Our video shows that the engine turns over. All other mechanical components are untested, but according to the owner, everything was in working order when the car was put into storage. This car is a candidate for a total restoration, where select parts can surely be salvaged. If you are in need of a parts car, this lot may also serve that purpose. Documentation is sparse, but spare parts books in German are available. Keys are included, but the function of the locks is uncertain.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

The engine appears to turn over as it should, although we cannot guarantee this (see video). The gearbox and brakes have not been tested. This also applies to the suspension and other chassis components. According to the owner, the tank leaked when the car was taken off the road, and this occurred when filled to full.

  • Interior condition

Somewhat better than the exterior. Reasonably nice floor mats, headliner, and door panels. The upholstery is also largely OK, apart from the driver's seat, which has some holes. There are also holes in the rear seat armrest. Trunk in good usable condition. All rubber seals, including door seals and window seals, are due for replacement.

  • Exterior condition

Poor paint with a fair amount of rust damage. The fender edges and doors, but also other areas, are affected by rust. The car has not been inspected on a lift, but given its overall condition, some rust repair should probably be expected. The tires and wheels are also due for replacement. Spare wheel and jack are included.

  • General condition

A restoration project or a parts car – that is of course up to the buyer.
