It's surprisingly pleasant to see a Volvo 740 GLE in this condition, both interior and exterior.
This Volvo was purchased new by a man from Danderyd in 1989. The current owner bought the car from his estate in 2022. The car has only 7,805 miles on the odometer, which is low for its age. The Volvo is in very well-maintained condition, despite a sagging headliner and a loose elastic in the storage pocket. It has been sparingly used by the current owner and has always been kept in a garage when not in use. According to the service history, the Volvo has been well-maintained, with the latest oil and filter change in October 2023. The car has been newly inspected and passed the inspection without any issues. Additionally, the Volvo is equipped with an aftermarket AC system and a sound system that cost around 19,000 SEK when it was installed, as shown in the pictures.

The left taillight lens is cracked. The plastic on the right side of the rear bumper is scratched. The Volvo is equipped with a CD changer and amplifier. The AC has uncertain functionality. Odometer not working since last MOT.

Interior condition
Resåren har gett upp på förvaringsfickan på passagerarstolens rygg. Innertaket hänger lite. Interiören är i en roströd fin färg som är välvårdad och i ett fint skick. Bra och hela plastmattor i golvbrunnarna.

The exterior has some small dents and signs of use. Touch-up paint applied under the lock on the driver's door. Also, touch-up paint applied to unswollen fender edges.

Facts about the model
The 700 series was introduced with Volvo's new luxury car, the 760, in February 1982. In 1984, the simpler and more affordable sister model, the Volvo 740, was introduced and built until 1992. Initially, a GLE version with fuel injection and 130 hp was available. Then came the true volume model, the GL, with a carburetor and 112 hp. The 740 Turbo was offered with the same turbocharged engine as the 760 Turbo. The Volvo 740 was sometimes referred to as the "Sossecontainer" because it was a car commonly owned by the working class.
