Facts about the model

Honda introduced the first "superbike" in 1968. Its name was Honda CB 750, and it is a milestone in motorcycle history. It garnered immense attention when it was first displayed in 1968 at the Tokyo Show. With 67 horsepower and electric start, it virtually marked the end of the British motorcycle industry.
What is referred to as 'Sandcast' primarily pertains to certain engine components, especially the engine block (there are also a few bodywork details that are Sandcast). 'Sandcast' means sand-cast and was the method used to create the first engine blocks because it is a cost-effective manufacturing model for small production runs. When Honda realized after a few months that the CB750 was a major success, they transitioned to die-casting, which is more cost-effective for larger batches and also has superior casting precision. The last sand-cast engine had the manufacturing number CB750 E-1007414 and was produced at the end of 1969. The final numbers indicate that a total of 7,414 sand-cast engine blocks were manufactured. After that, all CB750 engines are die-cast.
