"XJ with a "LWB" long wheel base is a rare combination with a pleasant specification and patina condition."

Description

It was delivered new to its first owner in July 1974, probably in the Stockholm area. It seems to have spent most of its time in the Mälardalen region before the current owner took over the car a few years ago. The mileage today is 44 570 kilometers, but it has likely traveled more than 144 570 kilometers as the odometer resets at 100 000 km. One previous owner was a member of the Jaguar club, and the car has extensive and rich documentation along with some special tools and spare parts.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Smooth engine and transmission, power is felt and the transmission shifts smoothly. The fuel consumption is an inherent part of the mechanical charm. The power steering is jerky at low RPMs, which can likely be easily resolved by adding hydraulic oil to the power steering pump.

  • Interior condition:

Light and welcoming leather interior according to the classic British recipe, along with fine walnut panels. Good headliner and carpets. An older alarm fixture hangs down under the steering wheel and its function is unknown, but it is probably good to check. The alarm box on the keychain lights up red when pressed.

  • Exterior condition:

Partially repainted, most recently the front wings. At the time of documentation, the car had only been lightly washed and in some of the pictures it may appear blotchy. Fitted with spoke wheels, original chrome sheet metal wheels with some rust are included, as well as newly chromed hubcaps with new, unmounted emblems. Some welding is visible underneath, otherwise the undercarriage looks good.

  • General condition:

The representative condition and Swedish ownership with Jaguar Club history guarantee a continued valuable collector car existence for an enthusiastic new owner.
