Description
The new owner drove it for the first summer and then stored it away. It remained in the garage for 17 years until it was brought out again, serviced, inspected, and used for one summer before being put away once more. The car remained in storage until 2023, when it was purchased by its current owner, with one owner in between.
In 2023, the car received a new right front fender, and minor rust around the rear wheel arches was addressed. It was serviced and has since been driven 2,500 km during the summers of 2023 and 2024.
The car is a joy to drive—rolling smoothly and feeling stable on the road. Everything functions as expected for an untouched, low-mileage classic, making it a delight to experience.
Technical data
Condition
-
Mechanical condition
The car starts easily. The engine runs smoothly, and the gears shift effortlessly. It is truly enjoyable to drive—feeling responsive, comfortable, and stable. Equipped with new tires, a new exhaust system, refurbished brakes, and freshly serviced.
-
Interior condition
The original interior is in exceptionally good condition. Even the old, delicate rubber mats are still intact. The dashboard, door panels, seats, and headliner show minimal wear, which is truly remarkable.
-
Exterior condition
The body is solid and well-preserved, both externally and underneath, with no significant rust issues. Stickers indicate that the car has undergone extensive Tectyl treatments, which likely contributed to its excellent condition. Both front fenders have been replaced, as well as the right-side support beam. Otherwise, the car remains original.
It was partially repainted in its original color long ago, and when it was brought out in 2017, touch-ups were made to the lower edges of the doors, rear fenders, and wheel arches. These areas were spray-painted, and in some spots, the paint has developed cracks.
(If the next owner invests in a new paint job below the trim on the doors and rear fenders, the car would reach top condition.) However, even in its current state, it looks good and presents well.
There is a stone chip with a crack in the lower left corner of the windshield (see image). -
General condition
A car that is well-preserved in every detail and ready to be enjoyed. Unusually fresh, with some touched-up paint imperfections on the lower sections. For those looking to take it to the next level, repainting the lower parts of the doors and rear fenders would enhance its condition further.
As it stands, it is a charming and enjoyable vehicle—perfect for summer road trips, for example.

Facts about the model
Inside, it boasts beautiful fabric upholstery, and on the exterior, the classic solid-painted wheels without holes, complete with red-centered hubcaps, enhance its vintage charm. This model year also originally came with the older-style grille, featuring a mesh pattern and a prominent central trim piece.
Since this car was sold in June 1964—when the 1965 models had already been available for a few months—we suspect the first owner may have opted to install the newer 1965 grille at the time to give the car a more modern appearance. However, this is just an educated guess.
PS: If the next owner wishes to restore the car to its completely original look, the correct earlier-style grille is available for purchase at Harry’s Veteran Parts in Falköping.
