"Dream condition for an old Land Rover fan or collector."

Description

This Land Rover was bought by the current owner's grandfather back in 1952. He bought the car to have as a farm car at a time when most people used horses and possibly an old tractor for local chores.
The family had a hand-hydraulic tipping trailer fitted so it could do everything from ground work, moving stones, forest work collecting wood, etc.
In the 1970s, a tractor was purchased and the Land Rover was now only used as a summer utility vehicle. After Oscar's son inherited the car in the mid-1990s, the water pump was changed and the engine and body were overhauled.

The car was not put into service until 20 January 1951. The registration document is dated 2 December 1949. As the Land Rover was no longer used on public roads, it was removed from the car register and became dormant until it was re-registered in 2003.

The description is based on information and pictures from the seller as we have not seen the object ourselves.

Facts about the model

Land Rover – The Legendary Workhorse
In April 1948, the Land Rover was introduced as a rugged utility vehicle. Over the years, it was offered in various body styles and came in both short and long-wheelbase versions.

In 1958, the Series II was launched, featuring an extended wheelbase, now measuring 88 inches and 109 inches. By 1971, the Series III arrived, continuing the evolution of the Land Rover while maintaining its reputation for toughness.

Despite its rugged aura, the Land Rover gradually became more refined, particularly in 1983, when the Series III was phased out in favor of what would later become the Defender.

Versatile and Reliable
Equipped with dependable petrol and diesel engines and four-wheel drive, the Land Rover—in all its variations—became an indispensable utility vehicle, valued for its durability and off-road capability.
