"We know about this car since we sold it a few years ago, and the previous owner loved the car and kept it very well maintained. It's been well kept by its present owner and runs and drives fine; now even the search light is connected and working. Inspected/Moted until 2024-09-30 and ready for some new adventures."

Description

The present owner purchased the car last year and enjoys collecting unusual cars, but he needs more storage space, thus the car must be sold. Under his stewardship, the car was serviced and certain electrical checks were performed, so the distinctive search light is now operational and has a long inspection/MOted until late 2024.

This car was sold in Sweden by General Agent Philipsson as a 1980 model and has been preserved and used as an enthusiast car by the same owner since 1984 till 2020. As a kite flyer, he traveled with the Rancho to Italy and France, where he met other like-minded kite flyers. On the hood is also a small placard with the Latin phrase "Volare necesse est," which means "flying is essential." The mileage is currently 15850 km, however it has traveled at least 115850 or 215850 kilometers today. It's unusual to find one for sale nowadays, and this one is a good example of a well-kept car that has been featured in a Swedish automotive magazine.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

The car runs and drive well in the engine, gearbox and brakes, like most older 1980´s car requires some extra "choke" when cold and always runs better when warmed up. Inspected until 2024-09-30 and ready to drive home. Good tires and wheels.

  • Interior condition

The interior is clean and original, even down to the tartan 1980's cloth seats. A minor rip in the headliner, good carpets, a small hole in the upper corner of the passenger seat, and a minor repair on the driving seat "See images"

  • Exterior condition

There is no serious rust concerns. Little scratches and touch-ups can be seen, as well as a rust blister on the front windscreen panel, a small dent on the passenger front wing, and some minor welding in the underbody. It's useful to know that some of the body panels are plastic and were constructed in this manner from the factory.?

  • General condition

Although it was not a major commercial success for Talbot, this is a well-kept, very practical car that draws a lot of attention. It has gained a cult following among enthusiasts of odd and eccentric cars.
