""My Toyota is fantastic" — and we couldn’t agree more. This classic is truly fantastic, untouched, and in such beautifully preserved original condition."

Description

The car was originally sold by H. HOLMS BIL & MASKIN in Fänsta in May 1985. It spent its life in the Sundsvall area and remained within the same family—three owners total—from 1985 to 2022. In 2022, after 13 years in storage, it was brought back into use and sold to the current owner, who has since driven it just under 5,000 km.

This Corolla is in excellent condition and remains in beautifully preserved original specification, with clean paintwork, a well-kept interior, and no signs of damage or tampering. Under the current ownership, the windshield has been replaced, and a new flex pipe was installed in the exhaust system.

The odometer reads a low 80,000 km, and all auxiliary equipment functions properly. A selection of documentation is included, such as a (partially stamped) service booklet, receipts, inspection reports, and proof of rust protection treatment. The car comes with three keys and the original pre-EU license plates.

Additionally, it’s equipped with an engine block heater and interior power socket. The car passed its latest technical inspection without remarks on February 24, 2024, at 79,360 km.

An incredibly well-preserved and pleasant example.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Starts easily and runs smoothly—both engine and drivetrain reflect its low mileage. The underbody is in great condition and has been rust-protected. All auxiliary equipment is fully functional.

  • Interior condition:

The interior is in excellent, well-maintained, and unworn condition. Basic—but as close to how it looked when new as one could hope to find.

  • Exterior condition:

As far as I can tell, the car still wears its original paint, which is in excellent condition. There are a few small touch-ups where stone chips have occurred. The wheels have been repainted by the current owner. Some of the rustproofing is visible in the photos, indicating the thoroughness of the treatment.

  • General condition:

It’s not brand new—it’s from 1985 and has been used—but it’s close, very close. Impeccable condition, both overall and in the details.

Facts about the model

The Toyota Corolla is one of the best-selling car models of all time. While one could debate whether it’s truly the same model now as it was then, the Corolla nameplate has been a constant on Toyota’s lineup since 1966. Over the years, it has evolved from a small car into a compact-class vehicle, with various shifts in body style along the way.

The fourth generation, the E70, was the last to feature rear-wheel drive and was produced from model years 1979 to 1984, with the wagon version continuing until 1987. Standard engine options included a 1.3L or 1.6L, and the Liftback variant even offered a 1.8L option.

This is a classic front-engine, rear-wheel-drive setup. Pop the hood, and everything is clearly laid out and accessible—easy to identify and work on. The model was available in a wide variety of configurations: 2-door, 3-door, 4-door, and 5-door versions, offered as sedan, wagon, coupé hardtop, Liftback, and even a compact Van. It measured just over 4 meters in length and became a major success—especially in Asia, but also a common sight across the U.S., Australia, and Europe.
