"The early seventies and Swedish households’ finest, common then and rare now. Volvo’s estate wagons have always had to work hard in the country."

Description

It was delivered on July 10, 1970, by Bil-Månsson in Hörby to its first owner, Åkessons Ur, in the same town. They traded in two cars, a 1966 Amazon estate and a 1966 Fiat 600. The trade-in amount was set at 12,150 SEK, which was deducted from the total purchase price of 22,650 SEK. Åkessons Ur chose to finance the remaining 10,500 SEK with monthly payments of 540 SEK. The car stayed with the company and the family, accumulating significant mileage until 2012 when an enthusiast took over the car. By then, it had a total mileage of just over 310,000 km and was recorded at 308,030 km during the inspection. The current owner bought the car in 2017 and has driven it approximately 1000 km in these years. The most recent and thus the last approved inspection was done on June 3, 2016, at 314,910 km, and the current mileage is 316,320 km.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Starts easily and smoothly, the gearbox is a bit rough and familiarly welcome, and the brakes and chassis feel as they should. The car is equipped with an electric fan positioned in front of the radiator. The fan on the pulley has been removed. The electric fan starts reliably when the car is stationary and when the engine temperature requires it.

  • Interior condition:

Original seats with a patina finish, stylish door panels and carpets, along with a nice roof with a few small tears at the back.

  • Exterior condition:

Partially repainted at some point, the sills have been given a stone chip protection in the form of a body coat at the bottom. Presentable and representative, looking like an early 145 did back then; the large roof rack, caravan mirrors (discreet mounts on the fender edge under the hood), and the prominently visible tow hook. Good tires on original rims.

  • General condition:

A fine representative of the model in a pleasant and attractive condition, exempt from inspections and ready to drive. Comes with readable and entertaining documentation.
