Description

This Saab 99 is one of the finest you can find despite its mileage of just over 90,000 km. It has never been restored, only meticulously maintained and serviced. In between, it must have been driven primarily on paved roads. There is no other evidence for this except for its fantastic condition. The first owner confidently ordered a well-proven model from Saab. It came in a modern Cirrus White with a five-speed manual transmission, two doors, steel wheels, and the latest grill design. An original radio was also ordered. Over the years, it has been additionally rustproofed beyond what was provided when new. You would have to search long and likely in vain to find any stone chips or door dings. We haven’t found any, but it’s hard to believe a car with over 90,000 km has no blemishes at all.

Facts about the model

The Saab 99 had a long life from its introduction in the fall of 1968. It continued to be manufactured until 1984. The 99 underwent many changes over these years. A five-speed gearbox was introduced in 1980, and in 1982 even the simpler models received the finer grille from the GLE, along with internally adjustable side mirrors and new side moldings. The new price for this Saab was 53,500 SEK in 1983. The five-speed model cost a few thousand more. For this, you got features such as reverse lights, front headrests, daytime running lights, automatic lighting, a clock, halogen lights, an electrically heated driver’s seat with height adjustment, and a tachometer with an economy indicator. The entry-level model of the Saab 900 cost 59,700 SEK at that time.
