Description
The owner, who is now offering the car at auction, states that it has never been driven in winter conditions, which seems entirely plausible considering its excellent condition, including the underbody. With an odometer reading of 94,250 km, it can still be considered a low-mileage example, although mileage alone does not tell the whole story; it has clearly also been driven carefully and very well maintained.
The car passed inspection last year, and a new inspection must be carried out no later than September 30. An original tool kit with spare fuses is still in place by the spare wheel. Two sets of keys are included. The owner’s manuals and a partially completed service book are also present.

Condition
-
Mechanical condition
The engine starts and runs well, and the automatic transmission shifts as it should. The brakes and steering are without remark, and no unusual noises were detected during the test drive. A slight vibration can be felt through the steering wheel, possibly due to the car having been stored during winter periods, which may have caused flat spots on the tires.
The tires were replaced five years ago and are of different brands front and rear, as it was not possible to source matching tires in the two different sizes fitted to the car. The owner states that servicing was carried out in 2021, 2023, and 2025 at a workshop he regularly uses. The hydraulic shock absorber on the front right side was replaced last year.
Electrical functions such as the radio, sunroof, power windows, and climate control have been tested and are functioning properly, while more advanced systems such as the cruise control and traction control have not been tested during the drive. The battery was replaced in 2023, and a wheel alignment was also performed the same year. -
Interior condition
Light-colored interiors can be delicate, but in this car nearly everything is exceptionally clean and well preserved, reflecting the low mileage. The seat frames have a few dark scuff marks, most likely caused by shoe soles, and they would probably polish out. A period-correct issue can be seen on one of the steering wheel buttons and around the headlight switch, where the plastic has developed a sticky surface over time. This cannot be removed with ordinary soap and water and requires stronger cleaning agents. Minor wear is visible on the steering wheel, though nothing that detracts from the overall impression.
The trunk lining is in very good condition and looks barely used. -
Exterior condition
The bodywork and paint are in very good condition, and you have to look closely to find visible signs of use. The hood and front bumper have been repainted, with no visible difference in shade compared to the rest of the body. There is a scrape mark on the front bumper that likely is not very deep, and the front license plate also has a scrape mark — although that is, of course, easy to replace. The Brabus wheel on the left rear has what appears to be some clear coat peeling, and the left front wheel has a few minor curb marks.

Facts about the model
Engine options included both V8 and V12 units, with or without forced induction. The V12 versions were available with either a supercharger or twin turbochargers. A Mercedes-Benz S-Class is expected to showcase cutting-edge technology, and the C215 certainly did. The model introduced Distronic, a radar-based adaptive cruise control system, while ABC — Active Body Control hydropneumatic suspension — came as standard equipment.
Model years 1999 to 2003 equipped with the V12 engine also featured a cylinder deactivation system called Active Cylinder Control, which improved fuel economy. According to Daimler production figures, the CL600 version — the same specification as this auction car — was built in 6,348 examples between 1998 and 2002. Total production of the C215 amounted to 47,984 cars between 1998 and 2006.
