Description
The car is in original, unrestored condition. The passenger door is dented, the rear wheel arches are affected by rust, and there are patches of surface rust along various edges. Still, it is remarkably complete and well-preserved. Even the bumpers are straight, and all the chrome trim is intact.
Inside, the condition is better than expected. The seats, door panels, and headliner are all presentable and only need a thorough cleaning.
Mechanically, the car will require attention. The brakes need a full overhaul, the engine hasn’t been started in decades, and a comprehensive service will be necessary before any attempts to drive it.
Over the Easter weekend, the car will be on display in Hall D at the Bilsport Custom and Performance Show at Elmia in Jönköping. During the event, YouTuber Hampus Granström will be working to bring the “Lönneberga Amazon” back to life using new parts from VP Autoparts. Its needs a new battery, water pump, and fuel pump. The fuel tank may need to be cleaned and the carburetor checked or rebuilt. We’ll see if Hampus can get it running!
This listing will be updated as progress is made, ensuring that all information is current by auction day—Thursday, April 24.
While at the show, the car will also receive a cleanup, and new photos will be added to the auction site. It will be exciting to see the true condition and how the rare Light Green paint (color code 91) looks beneath the decades of dust. When the team from Klassiker picked up the car, it appeared to be a solid project with real potential. It might even pass inspection with some mechanical work and could possibly be driven as-is. Alternatively, it’s an excellent candidate for a full restoration—especially since this color was only offered in 1966 and 1967, and the car appears to have relatively low mileage.
You can read more about this remarkable barn find in Klassiker magazine, issue 4/2025, and on the magazine’s website.
The car currently wears registration plates CCA505, but these are no longer valid, as the vehicle has dropped out of the Swedish vehicle register. A document from the National Archives is included to support an application for an origin inspection and re-registration. The car is being sold unregistered, and the buyer will need to handle the registration process. As a result, it will be listed as a parts car on the bill of sale.

Technical data
Condition
-
Mechanical condition
The car is now running and driving. Work carried out includes a fully renovated carburetor, new battery, clutch cylinder, distributor cap and leads, fuel pump, fresh oil and fluids, and a general mechanical review. It was started using an external fuel tank, and the ignition key is missing, so it was started by hot-wiring. The engine runs well – please view the video for reference. Note: the brakes will require a full renovation.
-
Interior condition
interior has been cleaned and is surprisingly in good condition. The driver’s seat has an older repair and some small damages on the side cushion. The vinyl along the top of the rear seat is ripped. It has good mat carpets, door cards, and headliner. There’s a small crack on the dashboard pad. Overall, the interior is very usable and doesn’t require any urgent work.
-
Exterior condition
After its first wash in 30 years, the car’s rare Light Green colour has been revealed. The team gave it a simple polish, bringing a soft shine back to the matte paint and removing many surface rust spots.
We lifted the mats, and the floors appear solid. The boot area also shows no signs of rust on the floor, inner arches, or spare wheel well (see pictures).
The remaining rust is mostly on the lower body panels, especially around the rear wheel arches. The passenger door has some dents and a damaged wing, and will need attention. The underbody shows surface rust, mainly on the suspension and other components. -
General condition
It’s nearly ready for its final inspection. Remaining jobs include a full brake renovation, cleaning the fuel tank, fitting a new ignition key and barrel, and a general check of the lights and horn. We can assist you with getting the car ready for re-registration—after that, it’s ready to hit the road once again.
It feels great to have saved another Amazon! Many thanks once again to all the visitors and to the fantastic team who worked so hard to bring this car back to life.
