Owner's comment

I searched for a long time for Rickman’s own front fork before finding one in the Netherlands, complete with the front wheel and triple clamps. The rear wheel is newly built with a Rickman hub. Both brake calipers and master cylinders are new. I have also made some nicer spacers from 7075 aluminum for the engine mounts and as wheel spacers. The small black cylinder behind the engine, which is connected to the crankcase ventilation from the primary drive, was installed by me to handle any oil mist from the crankcase ventilation. However, I haven’t noticed the engine pushing out any oil. There was an article about the motorcycle in Nostalgia magazine, issue 8 from 2023, and the new owner can get a copy of the magazine if they wish.

Facts about the model

The Rickman-Triumph was a legendary motorcycle manufactured by brothers Derek and Don Rickman during the 1960s. This motorcycle was the result of a collaboration between the Rickman brothers and the British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph.

What made the Rickman-Triumph so unique was its frame, designed by the Rickman brothers and made from Reynolds tubular steel. This frame technology was advanced for its time and provided the motorcycle with superior handling and performance compared to other motorcycles of that era.

The motorcycle was equipped with a Triumph engine, typically a parallel-twin engine, which offered reliable power and performance. Thanks to the combination of Triumph’s engine and the Rickman brothers’ advanced frame technology, the Rickman-Triumph became a highly successful and popular model for both racing and general use.

Today, the Rickman-Triumph is a sought-after classic motorcycle among collectors and enthusiasts for its historical significance and unique design.
