Description
The previous owner purchased the car in 2001 and drove it for approximately ten years. It was most likely the owner before him who carried out the upgrades to the suspension, brakes, and wheels. One receipt documents the purchase of the KW suspension kit in 2000, including a trade-in of the original struts — otherwise the price increase would have been substantial. Fortunately, the original components are still included with the car.
The long period of inactivity that followed could not really be explained by the owner. He received a company car, the years passed, and the Audi simply remained stored in the heated garage of his house. The current owner actively sought out the car and acquired it.
The car comes with a comprehensive and thick folder of documentation containing a wealth of historical records. The most recent approved inspection was carried out on 2010-09-22. Should the car remain in Sweden, the current owner will arrange for a new inspection.

Condition
-
Mechanical condition
With a KW suspension setup, freer-flowing exhaust system, and larger brakes requiring bigger wheels for clearance, a previous owner clearly had performance ambitions — with a nod to the legendary Porsche-developed sibling, the RS2. The excellent five-cylinder engine, gearbox, and particularly the chassis all feel exactly right and perform as expected.
The original suspension components are still included (see photo), and for many prospective buyers, returning the car to factory suspension and original-spec exhaust components may well be an appealing objective.
The car has recently been serviced with all fluids replaced and a new timing belt installed, which was changed before the engine was restarted following the long period of storage. -
Interior condition
A fresh interior with the high-quality feel and materials that are so characteristic of upper-range 1990s Audis. The electrically opening rear side windows are an unusual feature, especially combined with the electrically operated glass sunroof. There are a few small holes to the lower right of the radio from a former phone installation.
-
Exterior condition
Partially repainted on the roof, while the rest of the car appears to retain its original paintwork. There is a slight sign of corrosion on the left rear wheel arch and a small blemish on the left door molding.
For anyone wishing to return the car to a more original appearance, sourcing a set of factory wheels should not be difficult, along with suitable brakes for the smaller wheel size. The car is currently fitted with larger Porsche front brakes.
It rides on Hankook Ventus Sport 104 tires with good tread mounted on attractive 18-inch aftermarket wheels, while a 16-inch original wheel is included as the spare. -
General condition
For many enthusiasts, the S2 has become an unusual collector’s car today, and finding a reasonably unmodified example that can be restored to original condition is far from easy — if not outright difficult. This auction car, however, certainly has all the right prerequisites for such a future.

Facts about the model
In its initial configuration, the engine produced 220 hp, but in 1993 it was updated to 230 hp together with a new six-speed manual gearbox. Power was distributed evenly through the Quattro all-wheel-drive system, giving the car excellent grip and stability on all surfaces — especially in slippery conditions.
Based on the Audi 80 Coupé, the S2 offered a more refined and modern driving experience than its somewhat rawer predecessor. Production ended in 1995 after just over 7,000 examples had been built, and the Audi S2 Coupé has since become a modern classic — a true youngtimer.
Today, it is regarded as one of the key pieces in Audi’s transformation into a sporty premium brand and is especially celebrated for its highly tunable engine and timeless design.
