Description
This car is owned by a man who has also owned it once before. He bought it for the first time in the 1980s. He didn't have it for long that time and eventually sold it. It became available for sale again in 2017, and he didn't hesitate to buy it back. During the time he has owned the car, it has been sparingly used, about 400 km per season, and it has mostly been parked in the garage. Considering that he has barely used the car, his interest in it has diminished. The VW has been partially repainted, which can be seen on the fenders and rear part, but the doors and engine hood likely still have the original paint. During the owner's time, the car has received a new clutch, renovation of the rear brakes (shoes and brake cylinders), replacement of front brake pads, new front shock absorbers, and refurbishment of the front struts. The floor has been replaced at the rear and partially repaired, left front. Otherwise, the floor has been scraped and rust-proof painted. The car has been undercoated, and it looks good. The convertible top is in poor condition with some damage, a new one is included, see picture. The upholstery is original, and the driver's seat has some damage. Otherwise, the upholstery and door panels are in good condition. A small but nice detail is that the owner has managed to obtain a new original ignition lock. The VW previously had a lock with a replacement key that was installed at some point. Four white spoke wheels with tires are included with the car. Mechanical condition
The engine and drivetrain perform very well. It's lively and responsive. The brakes engage smoothly and effectively. There are no unusual noises coming from the wheel suspensions. However, the odometer has been stationary for many years.

Interior condition
The interior is in good condition overall. The driver's seat has a crack in the seat cushion. The instrument panel and door panels are in good shape. However, the headliner is sagging slightly, as shown in the picture.

Exterior condition
Partially original paint in good condition. The fenders and rear section have been repainted. There is damage from a rear-end collision on the right rear fender, as shown in the picture. The convertible top has been repaired but a new one is included with the car, as shown in the picture.

A VW convertible in good condition. Beautiful orange color that stands out from afar. Ready for summer adventures.

Facts about the model
After production of the Beetle began, open-top versions were introduced from 1949. There were various variants, both two-seaters and four-seaters, but the Karmann versions took over. Their four-seater versions had solid craftsmanship from the start with good precision. This especially applied to the convertible top arrangement, made of high-quality and durable materials, which also worked well in winter. The open-top models evolved much like a regular "beetle".
The later models of the VW Type 1 became increasingly powerful, with larger luggage space and contemporary interior details for increased safety, such as built-in headrests. By 1973, a completely new dashboard and panoramic windshield were introduced. Externally, there were larger taillights and a tank lid with a "fingergrip". General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
