The car was purchased by the current owner in 2012, who had it assembled by a renowned Lotus expert in Anderstorp. They opted for all available extra equipment and paid 50,000 SEK to have it left-hand drive. After completion and SFRO inspection, it has only been driven 183 kilometers and is like new.

Facts about the model
This is what "Teknikens Värld" magazine wrote about this car at its launch:
35 years ago, London-based Caterham Cars bought the rights to the classic Lotus Seven. The name of the cars was changed to Caterham Seven. Since then, the cars' characteristics have developed enormously and are seen by many as the ultimate driving experience - low weight and center of gravity combined with many horsepower (considering the weight). The only thing that more or less remains from the original from the 1950s is the appearance.
Now it's time for Caterham's sharpest creation yet - the Superlight R500. Caterham promises a car that is tougher, better, faster, and stronger than anything that has come from them before. We choose to believe them. You who think that the V8-powered Seven car with 500 horsepower is a bit worse, you are partly right, but it's actually not an original car.
The R500 model is not new in itself, it has been manufactured for a longer time and is probably the most appreciated of all Seven models, not least for the performance figures of 0-160-0 km/h in 11.44 seconds. But the new Superlight R500 is not only lighter than its predecessor, the classic Rover K engine has been replaced with a two-liter Ford Duratec engine tuned to 263 horsepower achieved at 8,500 rpm (maximum torque is 240 Nm at 7,200 rpm). Maybe the power figure doesn't sound so impressive, but one should consider that the car weighs only 506 kilograms (516 kilograms if you choose the sequential gearbox). This gives an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 520 hp/ton, which hardly any supercars can match.
Thanks to the proven Series 3 chassis's low weight and the engine's output, the car achieves performance figures in the same class as the most extreme, Bugatti Veyron. 0-96 km/h is done in an insanely low 2.88 seconds and the top speed is limited to 240 km/h as usual. Even though the car could probably achieve a much higher top speed, there are limitations on the person driving the car, after all, it is open, and you sit quite unprotected.
The car is equipped as standard with, among other things, a six-speed manual gearbox, rear differential, new super-light suspension, lots of carbon fiber (the seats, nose cone, dashboard, etc.), and much more race-oriented equipment.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
