Description
It was first registered for road use in Sweden in May 1965, and just over a year later it came into the hands of the owner who would go on to use it for nearly 39 years. A large amount of fascinating and well-preserved documentation has been collected in a binder — including every inspection report from the first one in 1966 to the second-to-last in 2015. The final report from 2017 has unfortunately gone missing, much to the frustration of the owner and his wife, though they are still searching for it and hope it will turn up. It would certainly complete an impressive continuous record.
According to the second owner, the car was never started without first plugging in the engine heater during those 39 years. The current owner has tried to carry on that tradition. Nor has the car been used for long journeys — it has covered less than 5,000 kilometers over the past 21 years. The most recent and final approved inspection under the current exemption rules was carried out on 2017-06-15.

Mechanical condition
The engine was running somewhat unevenly during documentation and will have the ignition and carburetor adjusted prior to delivery. Aside from that, the car has been regularly serviced by Bengt-Arne at Hallands Veteranbilsservice in Oskarström.

Interior condition
Good original interior, with only the driver’s seat upholstery and padding having been replaced. The door panels, rubber flooring, and headliner are all in fine condition. As seen on many PV and Amazon models, the crinkle paint on the instrument cluster has flaked slightly in places, allowing the brass underneath to show through.

Exterior condition
Older repaint work along with replacement body panels and hood. There is an uneven paint repair and patching above and along the left rear fender. The car was thoroughly rustproofed when purchased in 2005.

General condition
One of this example’s greatest strengths is its excellent and well-documented history. With a proper paint and bodywork repair around the left rear fender, it would become an even more attractive and cohesive classic overall.

Facts about the model
The Volvo PV was, in many ways, synonymous with Sweden’s post-war “people’s home” era. The years during which the Volvo PV 444/544 was produced coincided with a period of rapid development in Swedish society. Introduced in 1944 and manufactured all the way until the autumn of 1965, generations of Swedes have memories connected to the Volvo PV. For many Swedish families, the PV became their very first car. At the same time, it opened up major new export markets for Volvo — not least in the United States, where the PV became a considerable success.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
