Description

The car was imported from Los Angeles and arrived in Sweden in 1990. It has had a total of three owners, with the current owner having enjoyed it as a summer car for the past 18 years. However, it has not been driven much in recent years and is now inspection-exempt.

The car underwent an engine and gearbox renovation approximately 10 years ago, and the interior was reupholstered while the exterior was repainted around five years ago. Since the renovation, it has been driven less than 3,000 km. It starts, runs, and drives—during a recent 5 km test drive, it performed ok once properly warmed up.

Overall, the interior is in good condition and doesn’t require much work. The body is generally solid, with fixed-position headlights that cannot be lowered due to limited space underneath—something that could potentially be resolved with some technical know-how. The convertible top is in decent condition but has a few small holes that should be repaired.

Mechanically, the engine would benefit from a thorough cleaning, inspection, servicing, and replacement of some aged rubber hoses. The brakes are functional but should be serviced, and the fuel system should be checked, as there may be some condensation in the tank or old fuel causing minor issues. Once properly warmed up, the car runs and drives as expected.

With these measures addressed, the car can be enjoyed as-is—and it's extremely well-priced for a 911. You also have plenty of options to take it further, whether restoring it to original form or continuing the custom build, both of which can add value in the long run.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

As mentioned, the car will need a full service and mechanical review, along with replacement of some worn parts and a thorough engine cleaning and detailing. On the plus side, it's inspection-exempt for life. The Fuchs-style split-rim wheels will need refurbishment, and the tires are older but still usable.

  • Interior condition:

interior is presentable but would benefit from a valet and detailing. Seats and door cards look good, though the seat tilt handle is missing. Carpet is decent, and the five-gauge dashboard is complete and in good condition. A retrofitted ignition switch is in place, with some loose radio wires behind the center console.

The roof operates easily and fits well but has a few small holes that need repair. The driver-side electric window isn’t working—likely due to a faulty switch cable—and the rearview mirror needs to be refitted.

  • Exterior condition:

Repainted five years ago, the paintwork still looks good with only a few small stone chips and marks—it would look great with a polish. There are no dents or rust issues, and the underbody is clean and tidy. The plastic around the front lower valance has a crack and needs the grille fitted. The chrome frame around the windshield has some paint flaking off. The headlights are fixed in the open position and would require modification or replacement to make adjustable. The rubber around the roof frame is worn.

  • General condition:

You have loads of options—keep the car as-is, restore it, or add your own custom touches. Best of all, you're buying a 911 at a very reasonable price. With a service and general review, you'll have a car ready to be enjoyed this summer.
