"Almost exhibition condition. There are no comments, but a little cleaning in the engine compartment and new carpets in the boot would make it perfect. Sunroof that was retrofitted. Delivered with a new inspection/MOT"

Description

In the spring of 2016, the car was imported to Sweden from Newport, Oregon, which has a mild climate for cars in the United States. The car was complete and appealing, undamaged, but sun-bleached, so the owner chose to dismantle the body after three years for complete paintwork. Professionally painted in 2020, then meticulously constructed over the next two years. All details and parts are original, including mouldings, bumpers, and lamps, demonstrating that the car was in excellent condition.
The engine, transmission, and brakes have all just been serviced. The front seats are stripped and reupholstered exactly like the originals. Other furnishings remained unaltered. The car had driven slightly less than 100,000 miles when it arrived from the United States (160,000 kilometres). The Swedish car test required kilometre speedometers, which were installed and now read 12500km. The car has travelled around 173,000 kilometres.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Easy to start and easy to drive. No weirdness. Well served, all receipts for the time in the US are included. Unusually good condition.

  • Interior condition:

Complete and fine. The seats appear to be brand new. Carpets and door cards are great, but a minor cleaning improves them. Nice dashboard and headliner.

  • Exterior condition:

Body and paint are in top form. There are no comments. The dealer apparently installed the sunroof when the car was new. The cars comes with extensive documentation. (The present owner traced the owner in the United States, who had the car for more than 30 years.)

  • General condition:

One of the more attractive Volvo Bertone coupes we've seen. Great original condition with excellent history and documentation. The Swedish owner who prepared the car here previously worked at Volvo on the 240 model, therefore he is an expert on these cars. (Shown at Orust, the owner answers queries, and viewings can be scheduled directly by calling 0706651075).
