Description
The cambelt should be replaced due to age—the last change was around eight years ago, but the car hasn’t seen much mileage since. A new belt is included.
The car presents nicely overall, but there are some rust issues to note—particularly around the lower rear wings, the front left wing near the sill, and the right rear wheel arch (see pictures).

Mechanical condition
The engine starts with a bit of manual choke and runs fine with smooth gear changes and solid brakes. As it hasn’t been used much over the past year, a basic review is recommended. The cambelt is due for replacement based on age—a new one is included. The wheels have been refurbished and fitted with new hubcaps, and the tires are relatively new. One headlight lens and the fuel pump have also been replaced. The car comes with an older radio and a few extra parts (see pictures). It passed its most recent inspection and is valid until 2026-05-31.

Interior condition
Interior is clean and well-kept, with seat covers that have been fitted since new. The covers are in good condition, but the textile underneath hasn’t been checked, as the covers fit tightly. The door cards, plastics, carpets, and dashboard are all in nice shape, with no visible damage, and all gauges are working. The only noted flaw is a missing plastic trim ring on the glovebox lid.

Exterior condition
The car presents itself well, with straight bodywork except for a small dent on the boot lid. There are some rust issues to note—mainly around the lower rear wings, the front left wing near the sill, and the right rear wheel arch (see pictures). The underbody is clean overall, with only slight rust visible on the front left sill; the rest appears solid. The paintwork is bright, with some minor touch-ups and light scratches (see pictures).

General condition
It’s incredibly rare to find a Volvo 240 with such low mileage—most have racked up 200,000 to 300,000 km by now. This one just needs a basic check-up, a cambelt replacement, and a few minor cosmetic fixes, and you’ll have an ideal future collector’s car on your hands

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
