It is easy to understand why the Citroën DS is still regarded as one of the automotive world's greatest design icons. More than fifty years after its debut, the model continues to captivate with both its appearance and its innovative engineering.
This example has been cared for by its current owner since 2004 and has had only five previous owners during its lifetime, something unusual for a car of this age. Thanks to careful ownership, much of the car’s original charm has been preserved. The cabin still features its original interior, offering a glimpse into the era when Citroën placed comfort and convenience above all else. The headliner has at some point been replaced to maintain the overall impression, but otherwise the car appears to remain in original specification.
Over the past ten years, the car has led a quiet life and has mainly been used for short summer drives. The mileage covered has been limited, but the care and attention have been considerable. The result is a DS that still performs as it was intended to.
The advanced hydraulic system has been maintained, and all five suspension spheres have been replaced. As a result, the renowned Citroën ride comfort remains intact – that almost floating sensation which made the DS truly unique when it was introduced. The hydraulic system operates as it should, and the car still raises and lowers itself flawlessly. The car is fitted with summer tyres with good tread depth.

The original interior is in good condition. Naturally, there are some signs of use, but overall the interior is well-preserved, complete, and presents very well. The headliner fabric has been replaced, as the original material had come loose from the roof lining.

The paintwork is in driver-quality condition, consistent with the car’s age and mileage. There are some scratches and minor blemishes, as well as visible rust, primarily around the front of the car. Please refer to the photos for details.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
