"Among the finest restorations I have ever seen. The overall impression is nothing short of stunning, and every mechanical component feels factory-fresh—which, in effect, it is. All that remains is to enjoy and appreciate the extraordinary level of craftsmanship, dedication, and attention to detail that has gone into this remarkable car."

Description

This car was imported to Sweden from the United States in 1990. It was owned for several years by an enthusiast in the municipality of Östhammar before changing hands in 2007. The current owner acquired the car in 2010, at which point it was in relatively poor condition. It was subsequently stripped down to the very last component and subjected to an extensive, no-expense-spared restoration.

The owner’s goal was to build the car as a correct SS clone, a vision that was carried out with remarkable attention to detail. Countless hours have been invested in the project. Everything—and we truly mean everything—has been replaced or restored. No corners were cut, with new parts continually sourced from the United States throughout the restoration process.

The result is an accurate SS recreation, faithfully matching the original specifications in terms of mechanical components, interior trim, and instrumentation. Since completion, the car has covered only a handful of miles, driven solely to verify that all systems and functions operate exactly as intended.

It drives as beautifully as it looks. Quite simply, this is an outstanding restoration and a testament to an extraordinary level of commitment, craftsmanship, and passion.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

All mechanical and electrical systems are in full working order. The engine delivers the deep, satisfying rumble it should, and shifts through the five-speed gearbox are smooth and precise. An electric convertible top is fitted and operates flawlessly.

  • Interior condition

A stunningly beautiful interior finished in an elegant blue colour scheme. Everything is new, including the upholstery, dashboard, and all associated instrumentation.

  • Exterior condition

There is absolutely nothing to fault; the car presents as virtually new. The convertible top is new, and the owner has wisely chosen a canvas roof material to provide improved weather sealing and long-term functionality. The car is fitted with new wheels and tyres of a period-correct design, while the spare wheel matches the wheels currently mounted on the car.

  • General condition

It is difficult to describe this car without resorting to superlatives. A vehicle worthy of a museum or a serious collection, yet also one that deserves to be driven and displayed at automotive events, where the quality of its restoration and attention to detail can be fully appreciated.
