"A solid starting point for completion. The toughest work — the chassis and cab — has already been done."

Description

This truck was part of Kjell Olsson’s collection in Olofström. He owned one of the world’s largest and finest Volvo collections. In 2017, he decided to part with the collection, and the assignment was given to Bilweb Auctions. This truck was included in that auction and was, at the time, a started project. The chassis had been restored and a new cab built in ash wood. (According to earlier research, the truck had been in service with Sandwalls Ångbryggeri in Borås during the 1940s.) It was acquired at the auction by a truck operator in Åmotfors, Värmland, with the intention of completing the project. Unfortunately, time has not allowed for that, and the owner now feels it’s better to let the project move on.
Unregistered. Sold with engine number as identification. Registration documents cannot be provided.

Facts about the model

The Volvo LV60 was manufactured by Volvo between 1929 and 1932. Its predecessor, the Volvo LV Type 2, was equipped with the company’s first four-cylinder side-valve engine. However, this engine soon proved to be underpowered, leading to the development of a more powerful six-cylinder engine for both passenger cars and trucks. The new truck, the LV60, was introduced in the summer of 1929. Apart from the larger engine and a four-speed gearbox, it was identical to its predecessor, the LV Type 2. Approximately 2,970 units of the LV60 were produced before it was discontinued and replaced by the LV76.
